yup yup as said above i wanna learn pop piano. Any good places to learn? not into c-pop

There are a few places you can learn pop piano in Singapore. (:

1) Northwood Music Singapore

School's Approach: This school's syllabus uses a different approach. It tailors to your style of playing and what you wanna play/learn. For example, lets presume you like J-pop and K-pop. Northwood Music will customize a music book for you with pieces of music you are interested in. Wanna play your own repertoire too? No problem, just let the coach know and your needs will be catered. You will not only know how to play the piece you want but you will also learn to improvise it. (: Hence, every students' books are different. You will also be trained to play by ear read chords. I presume most students who have no music background and wanna learn pop are not very interested in reading scores. Hence, you will be trained to read. You will also get the opportunity to play with accompaniments and most importantly, improvise pieces. 2) Play-By-Ear

School's Approach: Play by ear follows a syllabus based on the course you have chosen. For instance, lets say you choose POP piano improvisation for beginners. You will be going through a curriculum involving basics such as Rhythm and Accompaniment, Music Theory and Playing techniques. When you complete this level, you will move on to other levels 2,3,4,5 etc etc and this is a very systematic approach. Improvisation will probably take place at level 2 and 3; depending on your rate of learning. Once again, as the school name suggests, you will be trained to play by ear as this is the key essential to learn pop piano quickly.

Learning Environment: The school is just like any music school you'll find like Yamaha or Christofori. However, the setting and styles are different. There is a shop which sells scores, digital pianos and a lounge for you to relax while waiting for your lesson. Each room has a digital piano (usually the Yamaha Clavinova) which you will use during your lesson. School's Approach: Both Northwood Music and Play-By-Ear focus nearly 100% on piano playing. For Hark Music, they offer vocal, guitar, pop piano and song composing courses. For it's Pop Piano course, it is almost similar to Play By Ear where there is a syllabus to go through such as fundamentals of piano playing, techniques, improvisation etc etc. If you visit Hark Music's website (link below) and Play By Ear's website, you'll notice that they provide you a list of things you will learn. Northwood Music's website will describe to you on what is the course about and due to it's personally tailored style of teaching, each person will be taught a different way to suit your style of learning, different from Play By Ear and Hark Music. I've done intensive research when I wanted to learn Jazz and Pop Piano sometime ago as I'm tired of learning classical piano for 10 years. I am now playing improvisational piano including styles like Jazz, Rock & Roll, Pop & New Age. (:

I've chosen Northwood Music due to it's style of teaching as I dun like to follow syllabus and I prefer teaching to be catered to a student as thats what I wanna pay for. If i'm paying to follow a syllabus, I feel that I my as well learn on my own through YouTube or follow the classical method when there is just scales, sight reading, aural and playing.
